This has always been one of my favorite beaches to visit in the North Island. Although access can be a challenge for those of us with short legs or young children (as you have to climb down to it) it is worth is. Go for a snorkel and spot some rays or a leisurely swim, the water is never too strong, which is great for kids who ate slightly older and want to...

This was my favourite little beach while staying in Hahei. I was there in mid December which is at the very start of summer and there were no people in the bay every time we went. We got there about 30 mins before the sun was going to set and saw quite a few Stingrays :) The beack is very rocky and the tide was quite far in at this time so you need to be able bodied to climb over the rocks but the stingrays were all within touching distance (although defintely don't...
