Review of Williamson Park, Whangamata Williamson Park in Whangamata is a fantastic spot for both locals and visitors. Nestled right by the beach, it offers stunning ocean views, open green spaces, and excellent facilities. The park is well-maintained, making it a great place for picnics, casual walks, or just relaxing under the sun. One of its standout features is its spaciousness, which makes it ideal for hosting community events, concerts, and summer festivals. There’s also easy beach access, which adds to its appeal. The recent upgrades to the park, including better pathways and seating areas, have only improved its charm. For families, it’s a perfect place to bring kids, as they can run around safely while parents enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The nearby Surf Club café is a bonus, offering good coffee and food options. Overall, Williamson Park is a must-visit when in Whangamata – whether you’re looking for a relaxing day out or a lively event venue.

Nice little park with benches to sit, bbq area with working bbq’s, toilets, somewhere to eat, has a cafe/eatery would recommend.

Very cool beach. Didn’t realise you could walk to the island at low tide. You get a pretty nice sunrise at this beach too!
