Blackies Cafe — Restaurant in North Island

Came to the place for lunch with my two daughters today. We ordered coffees and smoothies, coffees were very good however the smoothies were a bit watery but overall good. We ordered butties with hashbrowns and a garlic prawn pizza. The butties were very good however failed to mention that they contained bacon, which my vegetarian daughter couldn't eat. The pizza wasn't full cooked through and scarily the prawns were completely raw (photo attached). Unfortunately I ate a few slices before I noticed. Didn't advise the staff at the time due to them being preoccupied and had to take it home to take a photo as I didn't have my phone on me. Should have advised the staff at the time and is a fault on my part. Service was good maybe a little bit inexperienced but nevertheless friendly. My daughter did advise them on the bacon in the buttie and they offered to refund yet we didn't see it necessary as I ate the buttie myself (it was delicious).

Overall it is a nice place and we will give it another go in the future in hopes that this was simply a bad...

Food was great. Then why only one star?

Their customer service was terrible. The front lady doesn’t know what the customer service is.

After they served the meal, we found one of our orders missing. So we asked the lady if the last meal is coming or not, and she didn’t come back for ten minutes. There was no feedback, so we couldn’t help but think that she’s already let the kitchen know the missing one. Everyone would think the same way. A few minutes later, she came to the table and just said the order hadn’t gone through, so come to counter and pay first, WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY.

I am 100% sure that we double-checked the order. And four people came and having four coffee and only three food, and they kept looking at the kitchen... isn’t it common sense to come and double-check?

Eventually, we never got any apologies for missing the order until the end.

Such a terrible experience. Never come back again.

I had the exact experience & was told by the lady in kitchen to get out! After I questioned where my missing meal was?

After paying $67 for two breakfast & drinks and only one meal arrived ....

I asked to speak to the manager..... but it gets better..... the waitress told me ....that was the manager you were speaking too😮

I have managed restaurants around the world and was super gutted to find this occurring here in my home of NZ.

I quickly then realised I would never get an apology and she was obviously coming down hard off a night of Meth,

Seen this before with my staff............no eye contact and total failure to listen to your customers, followed by signs of aggression .
