Rose Track Traillhead and parking — Attraction in Waitākere Ranges

The Rose Track is a walking trail that allows easy access to Whites Beach from Anawhata Road. There are amazing views of the surrounding hills and beaches from the trail, and some great photo opportunities along the way. The start of the trail and the small parking area is about 20 minutes drive on a mostly gravel road from Piha Road, and about a total of 30 minutes drive from Piha. The access point to the White Trail is also only a few minutes walk from this parking area on Anawhata Road. Also, before turning right in the trail to head for the beach about halfway down, there is access to the Laird Thomson Track. (See photos of trail signs)

The trail is easy to walk, but steep. Plan on taking your time and wear good shoes. Whites Beach is amazingly beautiful and isolated, and is very much worth the effort to visit!
