Excellent museum, surely the best in the country. Entry $5 for everyone (international, student, national, etc). Very knowledgeable staff who taught me so much. Great archaeological artifacts and also a great art collection. It's the national art museum too. And they even have one of the footprints from 6000bc that you can't see at the archaeological museum in Acahualinca (the Huellas) since it's closed. This is a must visit...

I came here on Mother's Day during the late morning and the museum was practically empty. Admission is only $5 and I ended up with an extremely knowledgeable employee who took me on a 90-min. guided tour of all the exhibits on the first floor. The museum focuses on pre-Colombian Nicaragua and art by contemporary Nicaraguan artists. Overall, it was time well spent and I really enjoyed...

The Palace of Culture is a neoclassical building located in Managua, capital of Nicaragua, in front of the southern side of the Republic Square or Revolution Square. It has basements and 3 floors. Inside the museum is so hot it's unenjoyable. This museum needs to invest in air conditioning or fans. We saw ac units but not one room has ac running. Wouldn't recommend it if you get hot easily or can't handle stale air. There is absolutely no air circulation in the rooms and it's miserable. Admission is $5 USD they do take USD currency. Parking was free in the parking lot for the park.

We were visiting/on a scale in Managua after a long overland journey from Tegucigalpa. We walked from the hotel and found a big surprise to see this impressive building, which with the Cathedral, evokes a glorious past. It is currently home to the National Museum, with a modest exhibition of pre-Columbian history and cultural groups in Nicaragua. Admission is only paid in cash and the lady at the entrance is extremely friendly.
