I never rate this low because I'm not persnickety about food or service, but this place deserves it.
I arrived around 9:30pm with my family (4 people in total), and there were other families having dinner there. We ordered the main course and some sides. Food came late (which I'm ok as long as it comes perfect but it wasn't the case here).
Two people ordered sea food and two ordered beef which came overcooked. Everything tasted average but the bill was around USD$150, which is a lot** for average food, even street food tastes better and price is 1/20th.
But that's not the reason of the 1 star, the reason is that once the other families left the place around 11pm (it was late because they took very long to cook our food), the staff started closing the place, they turned off all the fans and air-con, and also turned off the music completely. At some point all other waiters but ours left the place, it was a really uncomfortable situation.
If they were about to close I'd be happy if they had told me so, I would had gone to another place, no problem. Our waiter was also average, maybe because the bill already included their tip (10%). If you go to this place I guarantee you'll get average service, average food, but everything overpriced. There are plenty places...
Read moreI went with a friend. It was a relaxed, casual environment. Yes, there are places that have good food cheaper. But we chose this place, had a great time .The service was good. We took some of our food home for the next day and it was even better then... We didn't get charged $6.00 for tartar sauce, but if we had, I would have changed my review dramatically. No one should ever be charged for condiments, especially tartar sauce which is basically mayo, pickles, a little onions and when I make it a minced shallot. Yes the restaurants in Nicaragua put a 10% tip on the bill that's shared with all the workers including the kitchen...I always tip on top of that, according to the service... If the prices are high, look at the menu before ordering...Just order an appetizer, which is fun...we very often eat a little here and a little there, and just enjoy the whole variety of options...I would definitely eat there again...it was good...Not the greatest, but still good...
Read moreI visited Summer's in Managua, Nicaragua, and unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the food. Despite the ambiance and service being decent, the quality of the food did not match the relatively high price. I found that the dishes were lacking in flavor and creativity, especially considering the cost.
Compared to other restaurants in the area, Summer's seemed overpriced for what they offered. I believe you can find better-tasting food at more affordable prices elsewhere. It's disappointing when a dining experience doesn't live up to expectations, especially when you're paying a premium for it.
I would recommend exploring other restaurants in Managua that offer a better balance of taste and value. While Summer's may have its appeal for some, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Overall, my experience at Summer's left me feeling like I could have enjoyed a more satisfying meal at a different establishment for a...
