Awful experience. This used to be a theater that presented quality theater shows and provided quality theater education. But over the past five years the Rufino Garay theater has lost in terms of quality. I no longer recommend this place. The administration makes students pay for their own presentations and seems more interested in nickle and diming their own professors and students than in the type of theatrical education they put forward. Hence, their students graduate lacking basic skills for directing a theatrical performance. I have yet to find a good theatrical performance culture in Managua but I do believe good actors and good theater education has the potential to enrich Nicaraguan culture.
