This site houses the Ancient Oranmiyan Staff (Opa Oranmiyan), not that it was moved here but according to the legend of Oranmiyan (one of the Yoruba Legends/Ancestors) this particular site was where he mounted his staff when he arrived at Ile-Ife. Being a giant (as most of them were then) explains why the staff is that tall and as time went bye, termites built mounds around it. If you’re a traditionalist, you can go in closer to the staff and offer prayers while offering a token to the worshippers in charge or just go in and say a prayer, however you desire. You also don’t have to be a traditional worshipper to go near the staff, you can touch and snap while at the premises. It’s a beautiful site to visit...
