My favourite location in Lofoten! Lofoten is the most beautiful place in my country. I live in the western part of Norway (Bergen) but have been visiting Lofoten several times during both summer, autumn, and winter. I think that winter is the most spectacular time to visit this archipelago. My favourite area is Reine/Hamnøy. Eliassen rorbuer is one of the very best places to stay if you want to explore this area. The spectacular view from the waterfront’s cottages/rorbuer at Eliassen rorbuer takes your breath away (see my attached photos and you will understand). This time I rent a “Waterfront Superior One Bedroom Cottage” (no. 53c) that has a spectacular sea view towards the famous Reinefjorden and the high mountains around. The cottage has a living room, dining area and a kitchenette with a fridge, electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave, kitchenware, dishwasher and cook top. In the bathroom there is a shower and underfloor heating which is very nice in the wintertime. If you are hunting the northern light this is the perfect place to stay! You can just sit in the waterfronts cottages and watch for the aurora and just step right outside the cottage to shoot a stunning picture. That’s why many of the professional photographers stays at this place. There is a free and fast WiFi access and free parking. The only thing that I miss in my cottage was a small table beside the chairs where I could put my glass of wine when admire the spectacular view :-) I highly recommend Eliassen rorbuer for your stay in Lofoten. This is the place I am going to stay on my next trip to Lofoten! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway. -------- Stay 2017: The best location in Lofoten if you are hunting the Northern Lights! I have been visiting beautiful Lofoten several times and found this location to be one of the best in Lofoten. Take a look at my attached photos and you will understand! This area (Hamnøy-Sakrisøy-Reine) is the best part of Lofoten - and Lofoten is the most beautiful part of my country!! I stayed in cabin 4 “Willy-bua” cabin for three nights and I wish I could stay there for at least a week! I am a photographer and this part of Lofoten is so amazing that you have to stay in the best part of it! If you are hunting the Norther Lights (Aurora) during the autumn/winter this is the perfect place to stay! You can just open the door and watch the Aurora if the conditions is good (clear skies an activity)! It´s very dark in the area so it´s perfect for photographing the Aurora. This genuine old fishermen’s huts have been sympathetically extended and modernised without losing their essential character. Do note that the cleaning fees are charged separately. I recommend that you just pay for the cleaning fees so you can relax during checkout. I would definitely recommend this place for the peace and scenery! I will be back again! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

The lodge is located a few meters away from the E10 the main road in the Lofoten. We had booked a lodge with two standard rooms with sea view. When we arrived we noticed that the bungalow given to us is the first one on the left nr 34. It is 20 m from the road with the view on the main bridge ( see attached pictures ). When we arrived at the reception to check in i told that i was not very happy to have a bungalow next to the road with a view on the bridge. The women at the reception told me : « you did not look at the pictures on the website ? « I said yes i did but the reality is totally different. She also said « did you visit the bungalow ? Hoping that we would be amazed by the design « i said no, not yet. Actually it is not better inside. The bed in the main room is of very poor quality and the second room if you can call it a room ( 4 sqm at the best ) includes two single beds on top of the other and you have to close the door to have room to climb the ladder. We paid 300 e a night for this and it is not worth at all the money. The lodge seems worn out. For the same price we stayed at hattvika lodge ( 1 h north) and had two very confortable bedrooms, a big living room, kitchen, nice bathroom all in perfect conditions. My advice avoid Eliassen Robuer it should be easy to find better. They are probably busy because it is close to the ferry from bodo and next to main road E10.

My husband and I stayed at Eliassen Rorbuer for five days during our honeymoon in June. We rented cabin #14 and loved it. The scenery was amazing!! It's like something out of a fairytale. I've never seen so many rainbows in my life. The cabin itself was beautiful and cozy as well. It was nice having a space all to ourselves, rather than staying at a generic hotel. The cabin we stayed in came with a kitchenette and we were able to save ourselves a little money by going grocery shopping nearby and cooking our own meals a couple nights. There is also a restaurant on the property, however we did not try it. One of my personal favorite touches was the heated floor in the bathroom. The weather was a bit cold during our stay and having the heated floor was a big comfort. There is also a washing machine available in the boathouse which came in handy for us. Unfortunately there was not a dryer available at the time so we had to get creative and hang dry our clothes all over the cabin, but overall that was a minor inconvenience. We both highly recommend it and would love to go back again someday.

Exactly as advertised. You are essentially staying within a postcard. The image of this place is on every travel brochure for a reason. It's perfectly situated overlooking Reinefjord and its fingers, the jagged mountains behind. If you get a rorbuer on the dock you are watching the dramatic scene change with the weather, kayakers floating past your massive window. The place is spotless, comfortable, and the staff in the office are really helpful. The restaurant is pretty good for dinner and breakfast. Alternatively you can eat at the fish and chips shack. Anita's on the next island over is a treasure. Easy access here to Reinebringen hike and points future south as well as Kvalvika. I recommend at least 3 nights. You don’t need to include breakfast like we did necessarily because there is a great bakery onsite as well. Note that the bay windows are really hard to open. Ask the staff to show you the trick.

This place is a victim of its own success! The rooms/cabins are piled on top of each other and you cannot have any privacy due to people outside your room taking photos. You cannot sit in your cabin with the curtains open, as there are people outside every window due to the proximity of the cabins, and it’s actually somewhat invasive. The breakfast was very crowded, as we had a coach load of guests arrive and destroy any hope of enjoying a peaceful breakfast. The breakfast included people screaming, eating with their mouths open, talking with their mouths full of food, watching tick tock videos and sneezing over everything Anybody who says this place is quiet, must have arrived when nobody was staying. The reception does not open until 0900hrs and when it does open, the lady sat behind the desk was as not helpful at all and I was greeted like I had disturbed her tick tock watching!

Excellent accommodation. It is located in a very convenient location, with easy access to restaurants, neighboring towns, Reine town. My Robruer was spacious, cozy, clean and offered fantastic views. Highly recommend.
