At last, we ended up in Reinefjorden Sjøhus where inspired us to plan this whole trip to Lofoten, Norway. The view of fjord, mountain and aurora though out windows is just breathtakingly pure and gorgeous. I mean… WOW! ||Every glimpse reminds me even more how magnificent our mother nature is. Every day, I could just sit there in the room in the armchair, staring at the elegant landscapes outside for hours. | |Reinefjorden Sjøhus located in the most scenic spot of Hamboy. Near ocean, you could hear huge waves coming close to shore and going away if you listen carefully enough. ||There are many rorbus in different styles and sizes, they are all very well-organized and laid out in the area. There’s also a small harbor and plenty parking spaces. The reception office is in the center of the rorbus area. It’s very close to each rorbus if you ever need anything. There’s a few restaurants around, one local best-known restaurant called ‘Anita’s restaurant’ is just 5-6 mins drive from Reinefjorden Sjøhus.||Our rorbu is with two floors. First floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. Second floor has an open spacious living room and a kitchen. The room has a gigantic triangle glass window towards the fjord and mountain, a medium sized window on the righthand wall. The entire rorbu is floor heated, so it’s very warm. The kitchen has a fridge, 4-induction stoves, a hood fan, a dishwasher, a dining table with 4 chairs, and a cupboard with enough cups, plates, pans and tableware. It’s very convenient for cooking and dining. ||The rorbu has a simple decoration style but full of coziness and warmth, makes us feel like home. It’s very clean and tidy. There is always a natural wood smell in the air, feeling so soothing and relaxing. ||Agata and Senja, the two wonderful souls who helped us check in upon our arrival. They settled all things in good order for us and showed us our rorbus. They also sent us a bunch of roses before left, how sweet!! ☺️ ||We stayed here 3 nights and were so lucky to be able to see aurora every single night. Naturally, we captured them not only with our eyes, but also our camera. The photos are so amazingly shot, and we totally went crazy!! Every night we went out, tirelessly run and shoot after aurora, in the extreme cold and dark, but it doesn’t stop us to immediately got addicted. See our pictures. ||We cannot recommend Reinefjorden Sjøhus highly enough. For that this is not just a place where you stay for a few days to experience a different life. It's also a great place to find peace, calm, and purpose in life again. ||Goodbye is only temporary, we will still come back. ❤️ ||Ps. Senja is a five-year old cute little lady, she’s an Alaska. Her name is after another large island in Norway,...
Read moreReinfjord Sjøhus was, without question, the most spectacular place we stayed during our 10-day journey through Lofoten and Senja! Nestled right on the edge of the fjord in Reine, this spot offers what I truly believe is the best fjord view in all of Lofoten—absolutely breathtaking! The staff at check-in were also very friendly and welcoming.
The sauna was the absolute highlight of our stay! Our girls (ages 12, 10, and 10) loved it just as much as we did. We tried a couple of other saunas during our trip, but nothing came close to this one—the views, the convenience, the atmosphere—it was a magical afternoon!! The hot tub was perfectly situated and made for the most relaxing experience after a morning of exploration.
We stayed in Superior Apartment #1, which had amazing views and the cutest decor. It was so dreamy! On our last night, we moved to one of the cabins by the water, and that was just as incredible—cozy, peaceful, and beautifully designed.
We also really appreciated the privacy of the location. Though close to the heart of Reine, the house felt like a secluded retreat. We enjoyed the views and amenities in complete peace, with only the sound of seabirds in the background.
The resort is conveniently located near Gadus, a restaurant not to be missed—especially if you're vegetarian! Their homemade pastas were amazing.
If you're looking for a place that combines luxury, nature, and tranquility, Reinfjord Sjøhus is it. It really elevated our entire trip and gave us memories we’ll treasure forever. If we ever return to Lofoten, I honestly can’t imagine staying...
Read moreIt was the absolute best sauna from the 5 hotels we stayed at in Senja and Lofoten. We loved our cabin with an upstairs living room and an amazing view. The unit had some central AC but we never felt any AC. I think it is controlled by the central office and is shut down overnight. We really never felt it, so if you are expecting the AC you can control, you are out of luck.
The staff was amazing and so responsive. The view from our room was gorgeous. The bathroom was a bit tight but our family of 4 managed.
We didn’t have a restaurant in that hotel so we always had to drive somewhere else to eat. Given lots of tourists and lack of parking, that posed a bit of an issue.
If you want a quiet place to stay with a great view and an amazing sauna, this is your place! If you want to be close to the restaurants and the best hike in Lofoten plus be able to walk to other scenic places, I would stay in Reine.
Still, we loved this hotel and...
