We travelled to Lofoten at the end of January, so due to the weather conditions and a lot of snow there were not too many outdoor activities or hikes we could do. So we were looking for easier walks or strolls and this one is nice and easy to do also in winter and with a lot of snow. You can park the car in Sorvagen and follow the trail, which is well maintained also in winter, and walk around the lake and pass by two waterfalls. Takes maybe 1-1,5 hrs, nice stroll on a sunny winter day. We had considered maybe also hiking up one of the closeby mountains from here but if there is a lot of snow in winter you can forget about that as you just cannot see the trail. So we stuck to the easy walk around the lake, which was also nice. What was also interesting to see was the many, many animal traces in the snow, a lot of action here apparently even when you don't 'see' any wildlife (we did see an eagle circling above us).

The waterfall in Sørvågen, Lofoten, is a hidden gem that perfectly blends tranquility and raw nature. The sound of cascading water echoes through the lush green surroundings, creating a serene atmosphere. It’s easily accessible via a short hike, which offers breathtaking views along the way. The waterfall itself, while not massive, is stunning, especially after rainfall when the flow is stronger. A visit here feels like stepping into a postcard. Perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike, this spot is a must-visit when exploring Lofoten. Just be mindful of the weather and wear sturdy shoes for the trail.

Very easy hike to the waterfall area. As the waterfall is not high you won’t take much time to get a good angle. There are trees and grass patches that can get quite wet when it rains so have to be careful in the slippery tracks. A good place to stop for short walk. Took us 1-2 hours to hike around the area.
