A pearl well worth a detour and stay I am very caucious about giving top reviews, maybe because my experience after forty years of travel have had my fair share of experiences, but here is one of these rare situations. The short story is: Excellent atmosphere, excellent staff, sublime food, top notch interior. For those caring to read a little bit more, the long version comes here: Arriving from the outside, the hotel looks modest, but as the automatic door opened, we entered into a sleek, modern, beautifully decorated reception and bar, which you will find at the best boutique hotels with a professional staff making all efforts to make you feel at home. No need for pictures from the room, that is absolutely correct from their website. We arrived early, and after checking in, we went for a walk in the most stunning nature you might experience anywhere in the world, and with an unmistakeable whiff of dried cod, or cod heads. Dinnertime. The menu had some standard cocktails on mentioned, but as I am a dog for dry Martinis, I asked if this was possible with a twist of lemon. And sure enough, with no previous experience, they came up with a stunning example, kudos for that, after some horrible experiences at other places the previous days. We settled for deep fried cod tongues, and what a treat, the picture says it all! The owner was around, and asked us what we have ordered. My choice was mussels and my company skin seared cod since we the day before at another place had had a good baked dried cod which had been ok. But she had the guts and managed to talk us into their version of the dish, their signature dish, and I can’t say anything that I didn’t regret a moment from the first bite. Perfectly balanced, not too salty and with veggies al dente, and homemade mashed potatoes and a pesto where I hope to have the recipe. Finally for dessert, a chocolate cream with cherries on crums, that tasted, yes, you guessed right, chocolate and cherries, an absolute treat. Summary is, this was fine dining, and in my opinion, worth the price level compared to other places which were rip offs. So don’t miss this place, either for lunch or dinner, or the weekend package. Recommended!

This is a review in two halves - my partner liked her cod but I had the stock fish (dried cod, rehydrated) but this was really tough - ideally it would have been oven-baked in a sauce that would soften it and provide flavour but it was just covered in salt to hide the fact that it had no flavour. The broccoli was deep-fried and had the texture and taste of twigs; the carrots were tasteless (possibly previous seasons); the mashed potato was OK though. Staff were nice. Location was good with view to the nearby boats and harbour. Just choose wisely from the menu...

This review is just to let people know the actual opening times and what you may find once you arrive! I would love to give more stars, sure it’s amazing, but I can’t beacuse I didn’t even get to experience it. They say they are open in their web, in Google Maps and other platforms but once we got there they were closed due to off season, and they didn’t indecate it anywhere so we drove a long way for nothing! It’s a pity, we were really looking forward to it given the rest of the reviews!

As restaurant it was good. Food was good and and the people that works there very helpful. We had the whale and was delicious. In other hand the hospitality is not good enough and this is something hard to understand in a Norwegian culture where usually people helps each other. We are driving a electrical car and we actually need to charge to be able to drive back. After spend quite a good amount of money on the restaurant, the owner didn’t let us charge the car because we were not sleeping in the facilities. I can easily say we spend the same money as if we slept there. Also we offer to pay for it (charge a car cost 30/50kr) but no. It feels very rude and a little of consideration. The charging was available and the hotel is full booked. Very...
