I just walked this with my dog and the view was amazing and dangerous on the top, exactly how i like it!

The walk:

The first 40% of the path is very easy. It's a little sandy with medium rocks to walk on and around. Slightly hilled

The next 20% is more steep and there is alot of sand which makes the rocks easy to slide on and some stones are moving.

The last 40% is very steep. At this point you have climbed 250 moh in 1.2 km and you will climb the rest 389 moh in just 0.8 km. Here i recommend to stay off the most sandy route where alot of people have walked, as the sand and stone very easily falls down. Instead you can walk on the bigger rocks or in the heath (little greenery on the hillside) as it os holding on to the sand. Also we carefull when rocks are falling. Sometimes they gain speed and won't stop, so warn people behind you that a rock is falling. Doesn't happen alot, but i noticed one rock falling behind me very far down.

In my opinion it's okay to give up, as it is hard to climb it. It's not psysically hard, but more balance and technique. And it's not really giving up, as everyone have limits and it's good to know your limit.

Weather and clothed: Weather was 18°C on the bottom and 11°C on the top. It was slightly windy when i was near the top and combined with sweat, it was a little too cold for a t-shirt. I wore jeans and i regret that so much, as i got a new airsystem near my...

Note: parking near the head of trail costs 25 NOK per hour for short stay (we had to pay for 4 hours because of time for snack pauses and photos & drone flight on the top). You can pay via app or payment automat.

Mixed impressions of Segla Trail. I will recommend to think twice do you really want to hike exactly to the top. There is a middle point with amazing landscape view and trail to this point is ok. Last part of trail to the top is a difficult and a bit risky for non-athletes, also it was boring for me (climbing up & climbing down without new landscapes). I am not really sure that all the time and efforts spent on climbing worth it. In my opinion the view from the top is nice but not so much different from middle point view. Especially if you already checked Reinebringen, you will not be super impressed. Also there was too many...

We did the trail thinking of the views we saw in the internet. The trail was pretty hard because of the steepness and the Rocky Mountain may be a bit harder for few people as it’s really slippery at places. If I would be going the same place again, I would hike Hesten and see Segla from there. Still it’s not that bad to hike segla but the view from the top is not that wow as it’s scary too because there is no proper place to sit back and relax to enjoy the view, I had negative...

The trail is beautiful! It starts with a steady incline where it plateaus for a beautiful view of the water and nearby towns. There is an additonal climb to the top of Segla, but it's all scrambling and pretty steep. For those willing to take on the challenge the views are worth it. There was fog when we were climbing but once we reached the peak you could see all the tops of the mountains. It felt like we were in the clouds!
