Been to that glorious mountain twice so far. First time at dusk and second time right after the first snow! Both times offered such unique, incredible moments! You can get here by car, park at the cable car paid parking lot (machine paid in advance by coins\cc) or by bus from city center #26 going to fjellheisen. It's a 30 min ride as it goes into different neighborhoods. *Keep in mind the bus stop you get off at is also the one you get on at back to city center. Take #26 going to flyplassen (airport) via sentrum. Going up the mountain you can take the cable car (4 min, round trip-395kr\295 after 5pm) or through Sherpatrappa (about an hour, 1203 steps+10 min walk on a steep hill to the beginning of the steps). Waterproof hiking shoes kept us dry and warm. It is windy and much colder on the mountain. Layer up so you can enjoy your time outside. Views are phenomenal, and it's really worth walking around and enjoying it from different angles. When we got there, there was 0 visibility, but it brightened up completely within minutes, reavilng Tromsø's beauty. Amazing!

Summary: This is a nice mountain and it's a great spot for a nice local hike, picnic, or to escape the city. Make sure to take anything you need - proper shoes, snacks, water, a small first aid kit, warm attire, etc. Beautiful mountain with great views of both nature and the city. The trail markers can be somewhat hidden so just pay attention to where you are going. It is easy to get off of a trail, so make sure to remember your way back to the trail in the event you decide to go off the trail. Overall, this is a safe mountain with awesome views. Just like any hike, go prepared, with proper shoes, a snack, water, etc.

Tromsø is a beautiful city in northern Norway, known for its stunning Arctic landscapes and vibrant cultural scene. It is often called the "Gateway to the Arctic" because of its location above the Arctic Circle. One of the most popular attractions in Tromsø is the cable car, which takes visitors up to Mount Storsteinen. From the top, there is a breathtaking view of the city, surrounded by majestic mountains and fjords. It’s a perfect spot to watch the Northern Lights in winter.
