We couldn’t go inside the church because it was closed at that time, but the exterior alone makes it worth the visit. The architecture is beautiful, with a striking design that really stands out among the surroundings. What makes it even more unique is the backdrop of the sea and mountains, giving the whole place a very special atmosphere. Even just walking around it and seeing the details from outside felt memorable. For us, it ended up being one of the best things to see in Kabelvåg, and I would definitely recommend stopping by, even if you only get to admire it from...

Lofoten's largest wooden cathedral. It is a simple but very beautiful building. The big drawback is the cathedral is open only on Sundays and only on specified days and there is entrance fee to the cathedral, so that is way the casual tourists have no chance to see the interior. Another negative is the location of car parking on the other side of a...

I believe in the power and the word of God. And now I'm standing in front of a closed but open church. Is it God his will to take money for praying to him.

I believe that they could change this miserly circumstances but still there are black sheep's capitalism in this, our world.

In fact i would and I do donate to the church but just for...

A beautiful old church with a rich history, Vågan Church was built in 1898 and is often called the Lofoten Cathedral. The site has hosted churches since the early 1100s, when King Øystein Magnusson built the first one. Inside, you’ll find rare treasures, including the Bible of King Frederick II of Denmark-Norway, printed in 1589.
