The journey to Wadi Shab begins with a scenic drive through the rugged Omani landscape, setting the stage for the adventure ahead. Upon arrival, I was greeted by towering cliffs, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and an abundance of lush greenery. The contrast between the arid surroundings and the vibrant oasis is simply mesmerizing.

The highlight of Wadi Shab is undoubtedly the hike to the hidden pool and waterfall. The trail winds through narrow canyons, over boulders, and along the riverbed, immersing you in the breathtaking natural surroundings. The trek requires moderate physical fitness but is well worth the effort.

Reaching the hidden pool feels like discovering a secret paradise. The emerald green waters invite you to take a refreshing swim, while the majestic waterfall cascades down from above, creating a soothing and picturesque backdrop. Exploring the cave behind the waterfall is an added thrill, offering a sense of adventure and discovery.

Wadi Shab offers ample opportunities for nature photography. The dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and lush foliage make for stunning compositions at every turn. Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone to capture the incredible moments and create lasting memories.

An amazing and astonishing place with its natural beauty, A small boat ride to cross to other side and start walking trough the un tamed natural pathways . And cherish the natural water ponds all the way.

Watch out your steps as these could be slippery, follow the arrow marks on the stones to stay on right path.

There are series of pool one after another, we could only reach till first pool after 15mins walk as we had to return back by 5pm to get to the car. As the bot ride closes by 5pm.

Plan to reach early before noon so that you can reach to other pools.Pack some meal and some water as you won’t find anything in the wadi.

If you don’t know swimming, take a life jacket along and the wadis can be very deep. Don’t risk it!

Have fun walking, climbing, swimming and dwelling is the natural beauty...

The wadi can be reached from the coastal road by first taking a 5min boat (1 OMR return/person) crossing the river, and then walking 20-30minutes through the canyon. Mind that on holidays and weekends this place gets really crowded, or at least till the first pool and cave. If you want you can walk further along the edge of the canyon after the first pool (right hand side, ignore the signs "dangerous, do not go further"). The path is narrow, but perfectly feasible. After a while you will be all alone, and have great views of the canyon. As for the cave and waterfall: there is a small waterfall (~1m), and a fake one (from a tube) on the path towards the first pool. so not really impressive compared...
