Hilal Park in DHA Karachi is a well known park. Its photos and short reels online make it look inviting, so I decided to visit for a walk and jog. There’s plenty of parking space in front of the park, and the entrance view is pleasant. However, in my experience, this park is not suitable for walking or jogging. The walking track, about half a kilometer long, is narrow and elevated. There are too many walkers, making jogging or running difficult. But the bigger issue is that the track is made of cemented tiles, which is unhealthy for regular walking or running. Hard surfaces like cement put pressure on the knees, ankles, heels, and lower back, which can lead to joint and posture problems over time. I was surprised that the park administration seems unaware of such an important health concern. Not that big, but a comfortable enough track for walking and jogging. Concrete track - has various inclines.
