Explora - Centro de Ciencias y Arte — Attraction in Ancón

Our family went to Explora on a Sunday. What a disappointment! The exhibits were old and poorly-maintained. Some of the more exciting exhibits were not even turned on for the kids to enjoy! They told us that they could not turn in exhibits because there was not a large enough group, so my two kids and four other kids that were there could not participate in many of the interactive exhibits that involved electricity. The data and factual information was also incorrect, which especially bothered my husband. What is the point of a science museum if the data is not reported accurately to kids? What kind of an educational activity are they receiving? The staff was courteous and very friendly, but also ill-informed about especially the planets. They were operating on faulty data and just reporting what they were told. Very sad experience for my family and quite honestly a waste of money. Perhaps it's a better experience on a Saturday or for a whole classroom to go? But I wouldn't count on it. Many of the exhibits were highly text-based and not as interactive as promised. Others were broken or out of order.

Nuestra familia visitio a Explora en un domingo recientemente. Que desilusion! Las exhibiciones son viejos y malmantenidos. Algunas exhibiciones no fueron encendidos y listos para usar para que disfruten los ninos! Nos dijeron que no habian suficiente ninos para usar la electricidad. Habian 6 ninos en total que no pudieron participar en muchas actividades que usaban electricidad. Peor todavia, los datos fueron escritos y dichos incorrectamente, lo que es malisimo en un museo de ciencias! Mi esposo especialmente estaba muy descontento con los errores en los datos. Hasta las personas haciendo presentaciones estaban diciendo pura tonteria con los datos y repitiendo cosas que no fueron correctas para nada especialmente en la exhibicion de planetas. Si hay presentaciones en un museo de ciencias deberian recibir mas entrenamiento y tener mas sabiduria de la ciencia para trabajar alli. Went on a Saturday afternoon with our two young boys and they had a great time with all the hands-on exhibits. Maybe about one third of the activities had captions in English. They do offer that a guide accompany you through the activities and some do speak English, but our kids are young enough that we just let them explore on their own.
