Beautiful museum, only a 15 minute walk from the Cruz Del Sur bus station and close to the mall. They have a bag drop for travelers. It was only 8 soles per person to enter, and the museum is small but has a little but of everything- ceramics, textiles, mummies, elongated skulls, and a little exhibit about food. I had the epiphany that lima beans are referring to Lima, the city. They have beans in there that are thousands of years old. A must see if you have time in Ica and care about the local culture.

Small and well organized museum. Really interesting artifacts and explanations on display, along with a reproduction of the Nazca lines for those who can't afford or don't have time to visit the lines themselves.

Los días de atencion del Museo Regional de Ica son de Martes a domingos de 8 am a 7 pm. Los días Lunes no atienden. Para el ingreso al museo Regional cuesta S/.7.50 para adultos. Para menores de edad el costo es de S/.5.00. No se permite tomar fotos y te lo mencionan antes de de ingresar a ver los salones del museo. Hay cámaras instaladas dentro de los salones del museo lo cual te limita tomar fotos a escondidas sin flash. Si te ven tomando fotos, a la salida seguridad te pedirá tu cámara y borrara las fotos tomadas dentro del museo.

Do not be fooled by the appearance of the museum, a gray, Orwellian block of concrete, this is really about the content. This regional museum has a small but excellent collection of artifacts that will give you a good impression of the old Peruvian cultures. No se deje engañar por la apariencia del museo, un bloque de hormigón gris orwelliano, se trata realmente del contenido. Este museo regional tiene una colección pequeña pero excelente de artefactos que le darán una buena impresión de las antiguas culturas peruanas.

OK, not much to see or do but the exhibits they do have are OK. Eye opening to learn about some of the ancient traditions. If you have a spare 30 min check it out

Paracas fue gobernada por una aristocracia teocrática y la base social de esta interesante civilización estaba compuesta básicamente por agricultores y pescadores que ofrecían sus ofrendas y trabajos para el culto de Kon, el dios del agua. Lo que se conoce de esa civilización proviene de los cientos de momias descubiertas en necrópolis colectivas excavadas en el desierto
