Museo Arqueológico Nacional Brüning — Attraction in Lambayeque

A well-laid out museum with some nice selection of Pre-Colombian artifacts across a large period of time. There are three floors to view, and all of the signs are in Spanish, so it helps if you can read some. The array of ceramics is quite impressive from the different time periods are quite impressive, as well as the well-preserved mummified remains on display. I tend to tour museums slower than almost anyone I know, and this only took 1.5 hours. If you can't read Spanish, and decide to visit here, you could view the whole place in 45 minutes or less. The Bruning Museum, though overshadowed by it's more illustrious neighbors, is still well worth a visit. What it lacks in shear quantity of gold and treasure it makes up for in the way it contextualizes the artifacts and history of the region. The collection is fascinating and beautiful and is organized so as to elucidate the succession of cultures and the ways in which they were influenced by their predecessors and neighbors. Muy recomendado. Particularmente me gustó mas el tercer y cuarto nivel, en donde se aprecian los tallados en oro y te dan información para apreciar el contexto de la cultura.

El primer domingo de mes el ingreso es libre ("Museos Abiertos"), y también se pueden apreciar presentaciones en vivo como marinera, música criolla, etc. Por lo mismo, suele estar mas lleno de lo usual con delegaciones escolares y público en general, por lo que si desea hacer el recorrido con mayor tranquilidad y con menos aglomeraciòn es mejor hacerlo en otra fecha.

Muy cerca está la plaza principal de Lambayeque que puede visitar y a pocas calles el Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipán por lo que puede agendar un día entero para visitar la zona.

Está a solo unos 15 a 20 min aprox del centro de Chiclayo y el pasaje en transporte público y colectivo varía entre los 3 y 4 soles y los taxis promedio 12 a 15 soles. La zona es amigable y también cuenta con buena oferta...
