Five superimposed adobe buildings have been uncovered at the Complejo arqueológico El Brujo in northern Perú. In 2005 the famous tattooed mummy of the Señora de Cao was found in a tomb from 450 AD currently covered by logs in Huaca Cao Viejo, the Temple of Old Cao. The ceremonial place of sacrifice is surrounded by colorful murals. These feature the stylized geometric patterns and artwork of Moche culture (100 to 700 AD). A procession of naked prisoners led by a warrior decorate a painted frieze on a wall here. The naked prisoners have their hands tied to a long pole as they are led to a place of sacrifice.

Only an observer! Interpretive only of what has been shown! Brilliant exhibition with good photos of the locations and reactions! Looking forward to interpretive work from the archaeological society of the shapes and forms showing the Ying/Yang designs on the murals and creatures shown!

Made some guesses but those are mine to observe!

Otherwise very illuminating work and thanks to the Curators and the Museum Care Takers!

My only question was the one dog a representative of the live forms or a Spiritual dog that was used in those times, sort of a guardian!

Just thinking! Very good photos and opportunity to see an ancestor respected, regardless of the interpretations,...

For me I think this is better than the chan chan site. Despite not being a huge site, it is well presented for the details and historical significance. For example, the different layers of tomb, why people are doing that and where lady cao is. Our guide also mentioned the significance of Peruvian tycoons in preserving these sites. Lady cao site was well preserved because of...
