What an amazing experience! This museum is an incredibly special place where you can learn everything about the essence of Ayahuasca. They have all kinds of history, art, science, and spiritual elements that educate and open the mind to the marvels and benefits of plant medicine. The best part about the museum is Christian! He is a wonderful and unique soul with a deep fondness for the plants. He is genuine and very informative about both how the medicine works and was vulnerable to share his experience with Aya. He also recommended a genuinely respectful shaman to guide in ceremony. It is very important to find a shaman who is trustworthy as a solo woman because there are some men who are very dangerous even though a center may seem legitimate. Christian's kindness and respect were amazing for me to discover on my trip. My time in Tarapoto would not have been the same had I not visited this museum. I hope I can return to this beautiful place and beautiful...

Ayahuasca is a psychoactive brew that has been used for centuries by indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest for spiritual and healing purposes. It contains a combination of plants, typically Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis, which contain the active compounds responsible for its effects.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in ayahuasca among people from various backgrounds seeking spiritual exploration, personal growth, or alternative forms of healing. This interest has led to the establishment of various retreat centers, lodges, and museums dedicated to ayahuasca and its...

The museum is small but offers a great 40mins worth of learning about ayahuasca and it’s history. Christian who works there is very friendly, can speak english, and was able to provide lots of additional facts about ayahuasca. I actually became good friends with him and he showed me around town for a few days on his motor bike, explaining that he loves being involved in the good that ayahuasca does for so many people and likes to make sure people have a good experience of his town tarapoto. 100% recommend giving the...

A very interesting and unique place to learn about the history, culture, and traditions surrounding ayahuasca and Amazonian shamanism. The museum shows artifacts, paintings, and explanations that give a deep insight into the spiritual and medicinal use of the plant. The atmosphere is calm and respectful, and the guides explain with a lot of knowledge and passion. A great stop to understand more about the cultural roots of the Amazon.

Small museum introducing the culture of Ayahuasca to the general public. The fee is 12 soles per pax, but it comes with a tour of the museum. Do recommend to take a cab to the museum as it is a fair distance from the city center.
