Residencial Tarapoto View — Hotel in Tarapoto

WARNING! The hotel engages in fraudulent behaviour! I booked a double mountain view room advertised as 40m2. When I arrived I complained to the reception and manager that the room is significantly smaller than 40m2, more like 25m2. They offered to cancel the reservation, but since I had no time to go looking for another hotel I chose to stay hoping they would resolve the issue. Instead they changed the name, description, size and pictures of the room in booking.com to that of the smaller accommodation they had actually given me. All the while insisting I had the large room I had paid extra for. It wasn't even a mountain view room in the end, and only measured 26m2. When I complained before leaving the property the next morning they said they would process a refund but that I would need to arrange it via booking-com. I contacted the platform the next day after I had reached home from my trip, only to find out that the hotel was even rejecting a partial refund to make up for the difference in rooms I received. Thankfully I have emails with the correct room name and description, same ones I booked, since in the booking app I can now only see the lesser room I was assigned. Beware and stay away, they are scammers...

The hotel room was perfect. Modern, clean, and well designed. The pool was nice and the view was beautiful.
