The Chocolate Hills View Deck in Bohol, Philippines, offers a breathtaking vantage point to admire the iconic Chocolate Hills, one of the country's most famous natural wonders. The deck is well-situated, providing panoramic views of the unique landscape, where over a thousand symmetrical mounds stretch out as far as the eye can see. The hills are particularly stunning during the dry season when they take on their characteristic chocolate-brown color.
The facility is well-maintained, with clear pathways and safety rails, making it accessible to visitors of all ages. Informational displays provide context about the geological formation of the hills, adding an educational aspect to the experience. There are also souvenir shops and snack stands available, allowing visitors to enjoy refreshments while taking in the scenery.
However, the area can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, slightly diminishing the tranquility of the experience. Despite this, the Chocolate Hills View Deck remains a must-visit...

There will be an usher at the bottom of the hill at the right turning point asking for your ticket. Alternatively there is a shuttle in the same car park that will take you up and down if you're not on a motorbike.

The route and spectacle of sunset over the hills made it worth it for me so maybe...
Read moreIt is main destination for viewing the Chocolate Hills. Private cars need to be parked in a dedicated parking area around 100 meters before the turn towards the viewing deck. The ticket (100 PHP per person) is to be purchased there and includes shuttle bus from parking to the viewing deck and back. From the drop off area there are still 200+ steps up the hill to the actual viewing platform. Everything is well organized. Staff wear pink vests (easy to distinguish them) and also umbrellas are pink (to protect against the sun while climbing up the stairs). I wonder when the hills turn brown/ chocolate. We visited in April (middle of summer and dry season) and they were...
