I used to attend San Roque Church in Caloocan, but unfortunately, my experience there has led me to question its true purpose. While the church itself is architecturally beautiful and carries historical significance, I have noticed a decline in the values and principles that should guide a place of worship.
One of the main issues I encountered was the involvement of the priests in political affairs. Instead of focusing on spiritual guidance and fostering a sense of community, it seemed that some of the priests prioritized their own political agendas. This departure from their religious duties left me feeling disillusioned and disconnected from the spiritual aspect of attending church.
Furthermore, it became apparent that the church seemed to cater more to individuals with financial means. There was a noticeable disparity in the treatment and attention given to those who could offer monetary contributions compared to those who could not. This lack of inclusivity and emphasis on material wealth contradicted the core teachings of Christianity, which emphasize compassion and equality for all.
In addition to these concerns, the surrounding area of the church appeared to have a higher incidence of scammers and pickpockets. It is important for visitors to remain vigilant and cautious when navigating the vicinity of San Roque Church.
While it is disheartening to have encountered these issues, it is essential to remember that each individual's experience may differ. It is always advisable to approach any place of worship with an open mind and make personal judgments based on one's own observations and interactions.
Overall, my personal experience at San Roque Church in Caloocan has left me disappointed, as I feel that the church has lost sight of its...

I like how there could be a lot of churchgoers yet it is still very much an orderly crowd. Sometimes there are exhibits and they also get visited by the relics. Speakers (amplifiers) are okay especially the new ones inside.
Feel His presence at the PEA. The parish office staff are also polite.
I also appreciate that there are a lot of plants and trees.
If I am not mistaken there are 3 feasts a year for this Cathedral. For Virgen de la Nieva or Ina at Reyna ng Caloocan, Nuestra Señora de Nieva, Segunda Patrona every September 8, and for San Roque, every August 16. Then a fiesta every February 21 too? There are also processions we can join.
I just hope they put up a big poster of their everyday regular mass schedule like in other churches.
Mass Schedule Every Sunday, Mass hours are 530am, 7am, 9am, 1030am and then in the afternoon, but I cannot remember what the guard declared. I think 4pm...
