Food was good. Fries had a smoky aftertaste that I loved and the salad (the names escapes me) was really appetizing and got me ready for the heavy part of my meal. I also loved how the meat almost falls off the bones of the steak and wasn’t like eating rubber bands kind of hard steaks. Few things to remember though, 1) serving is good for two, 2) steaks are medium rare (has a little blood) or well-done (really cooked), and 3) if your steak isn’t cooked the way you like it you can, as a customer, ask them to cook it better. I would like to suggest that management makes certain that serving staff are hospitable, always, no matter what outfit their guests are in when they enter. They could, for instance, take their orders in a way that don’t make their customers feel rushed, suggest best sellers, or explain what medium rare and well-done are so customer like a previous post here wouldn’t order medium rare when they don’t that type of cooking. Overall my mom and I loved the food and the service.

Reason why I gave 1 star to this steakhouse: 1. The odd sear of the meat and the raw middle — made it clear to me that they have frozen their steaks. 2. Serving their steaks sliced up. I didn’t asked for this! Of all the steakhouse I’ve tried, this is the only steakhouse who serve sliced steak already. Disappointing. 3. The steak was serve cold in the inside with burned parts on the outside, obviously shows that this was cook in high temperatures, and not cooked well. 4. The mashed potato they serve is DRY. Not creamy. My husband and I were really disappointed. Never to go back eating here again.

Despite being somewhat hidden, this place is definitely worth exploring simply because of the food. A wonderfully seasoned and cooked porkchop was enough to make me come back again sometime. Service was excellent; attentive and knowledgeable about their menu items. The only minus point I'd give (which won't affect the overall rating) is the mashed potatoes. While it did pair nicely with the gravy, I was a bit disappointed that it was just plain mashed potatoes; no butter and/or milk to enhance the flavor and bring the potatoes together. Still pretty good, though.

there are too many crimes committed by Calves Steakside.

save from asking them for verbal confirmation, you can hear the microwave dinging from the kitchen (defrosting?). and by the look of the finished product-- the odd sear of the meat and the raw middle...it seems pretty clear they have frozen their steaks; a cardinal sin.

they serve their steaks sliced up. this is why you will end up with a raw steak. you have to let the steak sit after you take it off the heat because it is still cooking inside (the Maillard reaction). also, a legit steakhouse should know that the customer is the one who cuts the steak.

the combination of sear (burn) on the outside and raw on the inside not only confirms by logic that the steak was cold, but it also shows that the cook used high temperatures without also using low temperature....
