The beach has great dark sand, the kind thats perfect for making sand castles. The water was still when we went. Unfortunately it was low tide, so we could walk several meters off shore and have the water not come above our torsos. Best to go at high tide, and also NOT after a storm.
There are a LOT of dogs. If your bring food of any kind, you will likely be bothered by them. They are very very cute, but some are insistent about getting food, and some will even put their paws on you to beg. A few times the dogs were fighting each other. Just be aware if youre not a dog fan.

Despite explaining that we had already reserved a cottage and that the person responsible for the payment would arrive later, they insisted we pay upfront. We understood the need to pay, but we had informed them of our reservation and the number of people coming, and mentioned that we would collect the payment once everyone arrived. But there is one problem, that people should know about: The beach consists of mostly MAGNETIC (or IRON) sand!!!
This could be deadly for your electronic devices.. Keep your devices away from this sand - otherwise the sand might get inside via the USB plug or other small holes, magnetically attracted to the electronics.. And then your device might be dead. It happened to my camera, so I would like to warn you..
Its fun to play with the sand though, if you have some magnet you can bring for your kids to play...
