Hiking Mt. Ulap was definitely a challenge, especially for beginners. The ascent can be exhausting if you're not properly conditioned, so I highly recommend training at least a week before you attempt this hike. The climb is doable, but it can take a toll on you if youâre not prepared physically.
The most difficult part for me, though, was the descent. Itâs very steep, and a lot of us hikers were so tired that going down felt like an endless trail. It really tests your endurance, and by the time we finished, we were all pretty wiped out. The entire hike, including breaks and lunch, took about 7 hours from start to finish.
A personal tip: donât forget to bring snacks and plenty of water! Onigiri was my go-to for a quick energy boost during the hike â it was perfect for refueling. Staying hydrated is key!
I just wanted to say, though, that the trail was so well-maintained, and the view from the top was absolutely godly. The breathtaking scenery made the whole experience so much more rewarding.
Overall, itâs a rewarding hike, but make sure youâre ready for the challenge. The views are totally...
Read moreMount Ulap is one of my favorite. Hiking on this mountain is very different from my previous hikes. The first thing that I notice that is kinda unfamiliar is the climate. It is cold and very humid on the forest that you'll think that its raining on the trail. Aside from the climate are the Pine Trees that made me feel totallt in awe (well it's very rare to see a pine trees especially when you are living in Metro Manila haha). Plus factor is the astounding view of Benguet and landsacpe of the mountain itself that made me feel that I am really away from buildings, crowded place, away from pollution and stress. Actually, I don't feel any exhaustion at all beacuse of it's easy trail and also no worries on scorching heat of the sunlight. Overall experience, it is great! Highly recommended for...
Read moreI might say you have to be prepare physically before hiking here đ I wasn't prepared, I didn't do any workout and just discharged from the hospital a week prior the trekking. We arrived 7am and do orientation and registration first so we started late. Trail were up and down, there were rocky roads as well, perhaps the breeze caming from the mountain helps u not to feel the exhaustion. Good thing with our team, we had the same level of endurance, respect other trekkers and waited to regain strength. We had fun and enjoyed it. Better to arrive before the...
