Casa de Lourdes — Attraction in San Fernando

We went here April 2023 we loved the place. Beach front is so-so but the unit is lovely. We decided to spend Christmas here so Sept we made reservations and made a downpayment which was confirmed 1st week of Oct. Nov came and I inquired about adding more people incase some fam members want to join us. No reply, just seen. I tried calling but no answer. I was worried because he usually replies right away but now even my calls were not answered. First week of Dec I finally got a call and was told about some issues they had with the place. I just wished when they had issues they reached out right away since I did my part of reserving and paying early so I won't be stressed by the Christmas rush. I don't even think the issues he mentioned were real, maybe he gave our reservations to someone else. But who knows?

What if I did not inquire about updating our booking????

I just hope next time they advised early and I avoided the hassle of looking for another place which is impossible since it's December, still happy I was refunded but now our supposed Christmas...

A steep, narrow, treacherous spiral staircase is the only access to the “penthouse “ Unit was advertised as air conditioned when I reserved it. The host changed her ad, after I complained, to state only the bedroom has air conditioning Kitchen was filthy. No water pressure in the bathroom, water just trickled from the shower. We were given a bucket and ladle to wash with. No toilet seat. To light the stovetop, you have to hold down and turn a knob while simultaneously using a lighter to light the burner. Try to not burn your hands and face in the process. We checked in on Thursday and when I got up Friday I found the water only trickled from the shower. I immediately told the staff. I was told it would be fixed. When Saturday came, I was told maintenance wouldn’t look at the issue until Monday. Then there was the issue of only the bedroom being air conditioned. While we enjoyed the stunning views at Casa Lourdes and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere, we felt that the experience overall did not justify the price of the unit.

The pool, while nice, was quite small and could be overcrowded if the property is fully booked. We decided to spend time at the beach instead, but the area directly in front of the property is full of rock formations. You’ll need to walk a bit further to find a cleaner and more enjoyable beachfront.

Unfortunately, the unit’s cleanliness and maintenance were below expectations. The showerhead and fixtures were rusty, and other parts of the property appeared neglected, which was disappointing. While the views were beautiful, the lack of upkeep, small pool, and poor service made the overall experience fall short of what we expected for the price.
