The ruins are in the Marasigan compound, so it's private property, though it's visible from the street, and the gate along the main road is sometimes open (the gate along the market side/rural bank side is closed after office hours)

To the best of my knowledge, only the current vice -Mayor, Anthony, lives there in the compound. You will have to look elsewhere to find the other Marasigan siblings and descendants.

The compound also houses municipal counsellor Angelo's public action office.

Though gutted , the ruins still impress. A reminder of the heyday of Manong Poling, congressman for many terms. Other heritage houses of the clan still dot San Juan, notably the one near the Savemore supermarket. The clan is still active in local politics. Anthony recently became vice mayor again (after a brief break) and his eldest son has been councilor for two terms.

As it's private property, I wouldn't recommend taking pictures, unless you know someone from the compound or from the bank. The best view would be the one from the gate along the street- it gives a perspective of size and grandeur thats hard to match from...

Used to be a grand mansion that got burned due to unknown reasons. It's now a small museum and informal tourism office where visitors can check for your packages run by the local heritage group.
