Great course for the money! Felt like we played in a top quality course. The cart service was spotty as they only showed up twice while we are playing- but we were too engrossed in playing that we didn’t care. Pace of play was pretty good. Just a little bit of surprise for us when we started when they snuck in a 2 member walking group in front of us saying that they have to accommodate members- felt odd. But the members went pretty fast and we were able to get going. Every hole was well maintained with good fairways and the greens definitely was interesting as you had to pay attention to where the sea was to see if you are playing against the grain or with the grain. The views were great and I wish I took more photos - was just too busy playing and enjoying this course! The clubhouse was under construction so they said hotel lobby bar was it - hotel lobby was very good and the hotel looked cool as well. If I play here next time, I may just stay in the hotel.

This could be a decent course. An OK (but far from amazing) layout but it's in poor condition: inconsistent green speeds, bunkers very poor with exposed earth in many and the club deludes itself by claiming it's links golf (as far from a genuine links as I could imagine). I can't believe such a new course can be living on past glories, you'll be disappointed if you allow yourself to be convinced by the historic #55 rating, claims that 18th brings best golfers in world to their knees (they'd hit 4 iron, 8 iron) and laughable claim that 14th is one of the best par 3s in the world. Very expensive green fees and the bar prices are a farce (7EUR for a beer!)

Amazing golf course one of the best I’ve ever played! The staff was great! The views amazing! The bunkers fantastic! greens fantastic! fairway fantastic! The golf club restaurant was nice too! The only thing is coffee on the course nowhere to buy coffee. And you have to call for the cart with snacks to roll out and hopefully it shows up. The shop has nothing in regards to energy bars, snacks or water/drinks. Coins for the range was expensive, when you play on a course with 100 euro greenfee in Portugal you expect premium balls on the range and some free balls or free course guide or something but no. But Ill be back for sure!! Check out StefanosGolf

By far the worst course we played in Portugal. It was the worst check in experience with arrogant and unhelpful people. They have very few buggies - only course in Portugal who did not have one available for us. One player in our group has a medical condition so cannot walk a course. The course refused to refund his green fees even though he could not play. It was the only course we booked that we had this problem and the course blamed the incapacitated player for not booking a cart ahead of time. As you can see from other reviews, it would not have mattered. Also , they come across as cold and money grabbers. The layout was poor. After walking 9, you are trapped with having to continue through 18 as there is no easy back to the clubhouse. The clubhouse and restaurant were dated. Gives the impression that it’s an incomplete renovation! It is much better to go for drinks/food in Cascais if you do play here, as the people there were much nicer, views much better and you can take your golf clubs with you. We were frankly stunned that this course was rated in the top 100 in the world having played top courses in Portugal, Spain, Scotland, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, singapore, USA, Canada , Mexico among other countries. Does a real disservice to the much better Portuguese courses like Quinta do Lago, Monte Rei, Penha Lonha, Dundas Dunes - all top level courses with great customer service and appreciation. By far the worst golfing experience in Europe for members of our foursome. We would not return or advise our friends or families to visit or play this course. Waste of time, only downer on our...

Hi, I played on March 22, on very harsh (windy, rain, hail) my first round on the Oitavos course. The course itself is well known as one of the leading Links courses in continental Europe. I was lucky to play with 3x older Brasilians - fun guys.

Parking is super, bag drop off can be done right in front of the Club house. Reception and Shop experiences is just as expetced for such a high rated course. Changing area could be indeed a bit more private. Hair dryer or a selection of Deodorant after shower would be expected at that price range of Golf. I took an E-trolley, just good, a kind of a new model, tiptop shape, price was with 25Euro totally fine. Driving range is not fancy, but ey, its a driving range. And my course experience? I am basically not a big fan of Links courses, although that course make a lot of fun. Difficult to play, but the course is providing you a lot of opportunities to rebound back, in case you are imprecise in play. Greens are top shape, fast and considering a permanent wind (incl a permanent ocean view after Hole 5) - its just perfect. Price. I paid 201,00 Euro on a spontanious Sat morning, Tee time, 11.24am plus E-Trolley and one Range token. Restaurant is worth to stop for a snack or full meal. Qualuty is high and location next to putting green and Hole 18 is fantastic. Sure, in Summer even better with a great outdoor area.

My summary. Was worth the come - I enjoyed hospitatilty from the team and the course itself is very good.

(I am German, mid40's and play Golf all around the...

My friend made a booking for 3 of us and paid in advance which i was not aware of. When I arrived i asked if my friend paid they said no and made me pay separately, we found out on the course that they double charged us at the end of the round i went to get a refund and they took 15 minutes to say they couldn't authorize it at that moment and i had to send an email. I sent an email and then they replied the next day saying all their colleagues confirmed there was 4 of us playing golf and so they wouldn't refund us. Now in case it wasn't clear, unless our 4th person was invisible, and their balls and clubs were also invisible, this is simply not the case. There was three of us. So not only did they overcharge us in the first place, to then not be able to give the refund on site, to then DENY the refund because they think there was a 4th person when there wasn't. Absolutely awful service. As for the course itself it's OK, but for the value there is much better around. Quinta Da Marinha and Estoril 18 offer close to equivalent course and usually can get much better rates. Won't be visiting dunes again and will be filing a complaint with the bank for...
