It is a beautiful beach - and for fishing and experienced surfers it looks amazing. The sea is incredibly rough with a constant roar of the ocean and never ending 1-2m waves. The currents are clearly very strong and it’s not really a place for kids to go in the sea - or at least it wasn’t for our visit in July. The sky was overcast every morning and it was quite cool.

On a nice day, walking along the beach was breathtaking - noisy, windy, rough but staggeringly beautiful. It’s miles of unspoilt natural coastline. There were even a few sunbathers in more sheltered spots but if that’s what you want, there are much better places along this coast. Nazaré an hour south is perfect for that.

So - Sunbathing with a beach umbrella and an ice cream? Probably not, but if you want to experience the beauty and raw power of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s probably...

Fantastica! Spiaggia poco...

Great place for campers along the beach. Town doesn't provide much amenities except for a few bar/restaurants so grocery shop ahead of time. Free fresh water and grey...
