Great for all who like to hike and soak in amazing views and be one to one with nature. I would go back every time when in Funchal just to discover new paths and be surrounded by all that beauty.

We barely saw anyone else there so it was even more magical, with walking through the clouds and then seeing a whole rainbow appear in the valley.

The views of the ocean and the town beneath the mountains are stunning!

There's a hut at the bottom with a café to stop in your way up or on return.

You can also get to lower view points from there by foot, like Pico Alto which we also had fully to ourselves in the middle of...

I believe this place is absolutely underrated and goes unnoticed by too many people. I decided to go there for one day trip, as it was close to Funchal, and I could reach it by bus. (2€ from city center) The views you can see during walks are absolutely astounding. Routes are empty, this gives an opportunity to really enjoy the nature. Every route ends at the place that is...

One of our memorable walks. The park is well kept but still natural. Something for everyone notably the friendly donkeys. Gentle walks, challenging trails and a short walk to an incredible view of Funchal. Don't forget the restaurant it's beautiful well kept and very reasonably priced. We only had a snack but there are many options and vegetarians are well...
