Beautiful surroundings. I would recommend to wear comfortable shoes when visiting the place to enjoy it at the fullest you will need to walk around and explore the incredible nature. You can hike up to the hills and within 1-1:30h, depending on your pace, you will reach out the top, or you can use the cable car (even if you are by bike, you still can carry it on the cable car). There are a few options of places to have a meal or a snack when visiting the place but not many. Just be aware that depending on the time you will visit, the restaurants might be closed.

Absolutely stunning spot within the rest of this area. Modern church, with a setting within a mini hike of rain forest moss rocks. Kid friendly. Renovations currently underway with water fountains. Parking, restaurants, coffee shops. It's not touristy yet I can say. Perfect scenic view of the entire town and many more hills. GPS takes you through so narrow roads though, so stick to the main ones which is car friendly I guess. An SUV should be fine though. No fees to enter. Perfect for picnic and a day spending with family or just a date.

Nice church with a beautiful view over Guimares. If you go late in the day, the sunset can be lovely. Also a good place to walk around and wasn't too crowded when we were there (July). There's a little train that can take you around the grounds - good for kids. While here, I recommend visiting the Hotel da Penha restaurant for lunch (Sat to Mon) to try the Hake dish of the day. Very good. You can drive up here or take a gondola. Saw a lot of people on their bikes too.

Unbelievable place near Guimarães, a must-see if you are visiting the city. You can get here with different ways: the easiest is by the cable car (7,50€ way and back, adult price) from Guimarães, 10 mins from the city center, or by walking (400mt of difference in altitude, 7 km in total) or by car. The mount is stunningly beautiful, with huge rocks that have been carved to obtain stairs and passages to the top, simply unbelievable. The view is amazing

Amazing views and a great place for a day out. You can visit the summit and the church by either hiking, driving or taking the cable car up. Sunset is the best time to visit the place as the views are beautiful on a clear day. The church is also beautiful but the real prize are the gardens around the church. Make sure you have a couple of hours free to get lost up here.

Dec 23,2023 I payed 7.50. Not crowded, less tourist. 10 minute ride is worth it. The view is breathtaking. It's sunny so I got a clear view of the whole town. Ride is a little bumpy but safe. Would go back if I get the chance to explore the area. After visiting the castles, riding the cable car is the last best thing to do in Guimaraes.
