Thank you Raquel (and Helena for covering for Raquel) for the impromptu winery tour. We were very privileged to get a non- scheduled tour and will be forever grateful. We had the most fabulous afternoon visiting this winery. We adored the wine and we absolutely loved and appreciated the whole experience....from the stories and photos of family trees and heritage and connections to the historic town festivities, to learning about the wine making traditions.... the original wine making processes and marvelling at the traditional methods still in use today... we saw original technique and set-up that were visionary at the time and remain fundamental masterpieces that produce exemplary wines still today. We thought it was a brave call to pull up at a winery with our 3 young children on our way south from Lisbon. But we were super spoilt with exposure to this way of life, farming/vineyards and we all enjoyed the very professional space set up for visitors. The children were very interested in the process from vine to bottle as Raquel was an exceptional host who held our interest and attention with all of her stories and information. They really appreciated being given a branch off a plum tree by a farmer/caretaker, where they must have eaten at least 8 wonderfully juicy ripe plums each, straight from the picking. A talented, passionate group of people where the love shines through in the product. Yummo! Well done Quinta do...
Read moreWe were 4, on a Sunday wanting a wine tasting on such a beautiful day. This might be the worst experience I ever had. We asked and 2 staff members saying they couldn't do anything for us. They told us an option was to buy a bottle and drink it outside....really, there was nobody there!!!!!! When we asked avout the products such as the fortified wine, they laughed at us and simply said it was a local thing. Seriously, I can't believe the owner accepts such approach towards clients. We were about to spend some good money there but these people were so cold I still have chills thinking about it. I hooe you guys arent like that all the time cause you just lost a client...
Read moreWe went tour a tour and tasting - excellent tour, better in my view than the bigger wineries which are a bit industrial and take too long plus have huge groups. The location is lovely and the tasting was great, with a delicious plate of breads, cheeses, cold meats and a well explained for a reasonable price. I rate their wines far better than the other small wineries I have visted and right up there with the big ones. The lady who did the tour was charming and spoke v good English - we have tried their wines and moscatals at home and they are among the best in the region....
