My wife and I are here - shared clams for starters and then the seafood rice for two for mains - and had food poisoning through the following two days. I appreciate seafood accidents can happen, but it made holiday life unpleasant and tough for two days.

Perhaps we should have been suspicious that it wasn’t made to order (it arrived within 15 mins, and anyone who’s cooked seafood rice knows it takes far longer so was clearly pre-made).

Inside, the restaurant was okay and nicely buzzing with locals. There’s a handy car park on the opposite side of the road.

Service was polite and prompt throughout.

UPDATED 18/08 After a horrific week of food poisoning not passing, I had to seek medical support when back in the UK. Tests confirmed it was scombroid poisoning and, as this was the only fish/seafood we’d eaten, it was undoubtedly the source. Will therefore be adding it to the complaint book as the food poisoning was sufficiently bad to need...

The BEST RESTAURANT in the area run by the BEST PEOPLE you can meet. Very cosy with a consistent 5 star service. The menu has something for everyone. The grilled fish is as delicious as the meat dishes and the seafood rice hot pot is a particular favourite. That said, the best thing about this spot is the staff who are so kind and attentive. Fomos ignorados por cerca de 20 minutos, tivemos de pedir que nos atendessem e a reação do senhor foi levantar as mãos no ar a dizer que já nós ia atender como se lhe estivéssemos a pedir mais do que devíamos. Entretanto, já depois de pedirmos, tivemos de pedir mais uma vez que nos trouxessem algo de couvert, umas manteigas, pão etc, que para os quais, nem pratos pequenos põem na mesa, as pessoas comem em cima das bases de plástico e é se querem. Não existem toalhas de mesa, apenas umas bases plastificadas em que um dos senhores veio reclamar com a minha mulher, que não deixasse que o meu filho de 2 anos lhe mexesse pois podia estragar e tinham mandando fazê-las há pouco tempo… foi uma situação caricata e patética, pelo que não abandonei o restaurante de imediato por estar com cerca de 10 familiares e não estragar o ambiente no dia da mãe. Situação ridícula e no mínimo triste. Foi a primeira e última vez. Não deviam deixar os dois senhores que servem à mesa, lidar...
