We waited for hours outside for the doorman to show us in and the porter to take our bags. Eventually we carried our own bags in and there was nobody at reception. We waited for a really long time for somebody to confirm our booking and show us up to our room, but, alas, there was no staff member to be seen. We decided, as it was now getting dark to choose a room ourselves. Oh my. Where to start. The lift didn't work at all. I don't even think it was there. When we had lugged our bags upstairs to our room (unnumbered as it had no door) we noticed the bath and toilet were missing and the carpet was soggy. Not only that but it hadn't been cleaned in ages and the bed was nowhere to be seen. That night we took in the breathtaking views of the sunset over the lake, but got chilly quickly as there was no glass in the window. The plus side of this is no air conditioning was needed. Very green. That morning we wondered down to the breakfast room - nobody to guide us at all - and found it to be sparse to say the least. Great on the waistline though. The spa in the basement was pitch black, as was the pool. Very dangerous. Room service took literally forever and I can't even remember if our order arrived. No safe in the room and security was terrible. There were strangers just wondering in and out of the place willy nilly! The game room was also empty, not only nobody to play a game with, but no games to play! Plus points: Parking the car was easy and the views are great. Overall: Great ambience,...

This is perhaps the most popular and well-known place for ponta delgada island and one of the iconic image of the entire the Azores Islands. When you drive to this point with the road of flowers both side it's amazing .the Miradouro da Vista do Rei (King's Way Observation Point) in the Sete Cidades (Seven Cities) overlooking two crater lakes ("Lagoas das Sete Cidades"), both located within the volcano crater; they are referred respectively by the color of the waters: blue, reflecting the sky ("Lagoa Azul") and green, reflecting the ground ("Lagoa Verde").Weather is to much unpredictable here you be in a situation like rain ,cloud, sun at in a small time gap so be advised the what ever you see and wherever you plan to go or hike it's pretty much weather-dependent. One moment you are in situation of foggy or cloudy the next Cristal clear . Rainy days are sad for the miradour visited , visibility and colors will be affected. However this place takes your breath away the beauty of the location definitely let not to move on . recommend yo be there at least for half an hour while touring the island...
