The worst part about writing this review is that the food was actually decent! We arrived at roughly 2 p.m. and had just about 10 people before us on the queue. It took one hour for our turn to order. That would mean roughly 6 minutes per order. Not to get food. Just to place an order. It was clear from the jump the girl behind the register had no knowledge of service and zero basic abilities to even be behind the counter. Every few words she had to check with her colleague, who was the only doing the cooking. She barely understood english in a place crowded with tourists (me and my boyfriend were the only ones in a queue that grew double the size since we arrived who were actually Portuguese), she could not do simple math, she didn’t even get the orders right on the third try even with pen and paper. It was the most despairing experience I ever had. We only stuck around cause we had no choice, everything else was closed. As the queue moved they ran out of burgers, then bread, and finally meat. Thankfully we got the last 2 steaks. We ordered them with no bread, and they had ran out of knives so we had to tear them apart using our hands and teeth. More people were showing up and queuing with zero knowledge there was no food left. I had to get up and announce to everyone that there was no point in standing there cause there was no food at all. By the end I was having a full blown anxiety attack. I almost jumped behind the counter. Just spare yourself and go somewhere, anywhere else.
PS: just as another laughing point, we got stuck in traffic later that day, and turns out, ironically, it was the goddamn food truck jamming out the roads. Me and boyfriend...
Read moreWell, in absence of the much appreciated food truck just the other side of the parking, we resorted to this one, expecting at least a nearly good food. That turned out to be a mistake. Communication in English wasn’t possible to begin with. Sadly, successful bifanas earlier enjoyed next door wasn’t offered here so we went for burgers for the grownups and hot dogs for the kids. Portions showed up half the size while the price was alike. Never mind this ratio, it’s the quality of the meat that ultimately ruined our lunch. Over processed, dripping of the fat, hardly any taste. We were 5 to complain, nostalgic of the experience earlier tried (and also described just 50 meters afar...
Read moreI was recently on vacation on São Miguel island visiting some local attractions when we came across the Komaki burger truck. These burgers were absolutely amazing the 100% Azorean beef was excellent. My wife and I both had the Komaki burger, I’ve never had a burger that is so juicey and all the toppings and flavours are amazing togeather. The food truck is also parked near some of the best viewpoints on the island. If your visiting Azores be sure to make this a stop...
