Levada Nova - Tabua — Attraction in Ribeira Brava

Didn't walk all the way along as we had a car so wanted to end up back at it. But what we did walk from the Google maps point was awesome. Epic views over the farms and terraces. Rainy but didn't stop us, meant for more waterflow in the levada. We reached the tunnel section in 20-30 mins or so, and that was an awesome treat. The path was a bit narrow at some points. I am here with a group and know some of our older members would have had some challenges, but anyone paying attention to where they are stepping should...

This is one possible entrance to the Levada Nova - Tabua trail, (the Levada Nova trail is very long and winds around several valleys). Note - This is not the end of the trail that has the very pretty double waterfall falling over an arcaded Levada that you see in some of the attached photos, though it is possible to connect to that trail from here. Die schönste Wanderung, die wir gemacht haben. Wir haben beide Levadas verbunden und waren mit kleinen Pausen und in einem moderaten Tempo ca. 3 Stunden unterwegs. Eigentlich sind beide Strecken gesperrt, aber das stört keinen. Wir haben mit der Nova angefangen. Da hat man zwar am Anfang einen steileren Aufstieg, aber man ist fast alleine unterwegs, da einem die Leute entgegen kommen - wir fanden das sehe angenehm. Die Levada Nova war gut zu gehen, allerdings sollte man schwindelfrei sein. Auf dieser Tour hat man auch den Tunnel (Taschenlampe von Vorteil) und den Wasserfall. Die weiter unten liegende Levada ist auch schön, bietet aber keine großen Highlights und war deutlich anstrengender zu laufen, da nass, rutschig, bewachsen und steiniger.
