Museu do Tabaco da Maia — Attraction in Ribeira Grande

I was looking already 3years ago for this place without any luck. Yesterday I was then successful and found the tobacco museum. Trust me it is worth it. For 2,50€ you get a guide who will explain everything in detail to you. The guide speaks fluent english so don't be scary to visit this place. I really enjoyed this tour. We went in February and were the only ones there at that time, which was great as we could stop and ask any type of question. Claudia was our guide and she was great. We stopped at this museum on a whim, and as non-smokers we anticipated it being a quick stop. For €3,5 we received an in-depth tour for over an hour. Our guide was unbelievably knowledgeable and kind, and took so much care explaining the process of growing, drying, processing, and packaging tobacco when the farm/factory was operational.
