I am so disappointed after visiting this restaurant. I strogly recomond visiting ANY OTHER RESTAURANT ON THIS ISLAND. The food here is really bad, the waiters are young and unexpirienced and the prices are too high for what you get (90+ euros for three people).

Our waiter said that they didnt have the cheese board and bottled white wine, but we saw that the other waiter brought both of those things to the next table. The waiter also said that all seafood except salmon was fresh and local, so we ordered limpets, fish and shrimp, for drinks we had hous wine. House wine was savory and only “good” mixed with sparkling water. The limpets were room temperature, chewy and nothing like I had before on this island, they were so disgusting that I couldn’t even swallow them. The fish was tasteless and watery, the shrimp were chewwy and so heavily seasoned that all I could taste was paprika and oil with bad sea flavor. When we confronted the waiter about the freshness of the fish and other sea food, he said he can assure that the fish is fresh, but it may not be good (his words). When I asked him if he told the chef that we didn’t like the food he said the chef knows the food is not god. I dont know if this is just a case of bad english or are they actually aware that their food is...

Totaly unfriendly Waiter . When we arrived the table was full of empty plates which was not a problem. We were trying to help out and brought Some empty plates inside. We thought it is Nice to do so and took the menu book outside. The waiter Schouted to my girlfriend that this was rude What she did and telling all the people that she was not polite . We asked for his excuse and explained the situation however he was not speaking english and continued telling people that we were and that we are not allowed to pick a table. Totaly unfriendly waiter and so rude to us! We didnt want to eat Here and left the place. What a bad experience if you try to be friendly and help out. We Will...

My partner and I can’t say enough about O Estrella Bar and Restaurant! Bruno, Daniella, Luis, the entire staff, and family are beyond amazing! They go above and beyond to make sure that every guest is happy. My partner loves fish and I am a vegetarian. I can tell you that we left the restaurant with happy satisfied bellies every night that we ate at O Estrella. I had some of the best, filling salads there. The garlic bread was so good. Their bean cake was amazing! My partner loved every fish dish he was served. Great food, people, conversations! Our favorite place to eat...

Found this place quite by chance and it was a really wonderful experience. The food was excellent, and way healthier than most other restaurants we tried before, everything was grilled and not fried, not served in half a pound of oil like it's often the case. The owner is really nice, speaks English French German and of course Portuguese... Very inspiring young man. The small amount of reviews is only due to the place being one month old. Congrats to him and God speed in this adventure !

If you look for a quite place at the edge of a small town with an elevated terrace, overlooking the ocean and waves crushing on the beach below than this is the place you should look for!!! The owner is a very friendly guy who speaks multiple languages. He and his staff are so nice - service is absolutely amazing! They serve simple but delicious local meal (excellent fish!!). One of the best places we've been throughout our vacation on the Azores? Highly recommended!
