I like Torres Novas, it's quite and fairly traditional, the castle is free to visit and wander around and has peacocks, which sometimes escape and you can watch the staff outside the castle wall trying to persuade them back inside. I personally think the town could do more with the castle, perhaps concerts in the summer months or hiring it out for weddings, it would make a wonderful setting.I'm not sure that I would travel to Torres Novas just to see the castle but if you are in town it's worth a look with good views of the town.
