The nicest beach I have been to in Portugal. We were there right at the beginning of the season on a cloudy, cool day. Access to the beach is over the dunes on well maintained wooden walkways. There were loads of surfers enjoying the conditions and a good sprinkling of people out on the beach. There was a gentle breeze which was sufficient for me to fly my kite. The restaurants on the front were doing good business and, while a bit pricey, offered really good service. I guess the prices reflect the tourist nature of the place. Maybe I am spoiled by living well inland. At this time of year parking was easily available and free.

Fantastic beach and close to the town (within east walking distance) and a parque de Autovannas (campervan area) very close by the beach has life guards on duty during the summer months and has bars/restaurants along the long boardwalk that goes all the way along from the beach up past the next beach (however there is a part of the boardwalk that is impassable (June 2025 ) the beach is good to swim at and loads of space .

Wide open beach. Several bars just behind the dunes and parking possibilities. Occasionally it can get quiet windy (what is normal at the part of the arlantic coast). The beach is very calm during spring, fall and winter. During the summer months it's one of the most crowded beaches in the area.still though my favourite place on earth, I grew up going daily to this beach. Very romantic and photogenic place during sunsets

This is a wide, sandy beach known for its long stretch of shoreline and well-maintained coastal promenade. It offers excellent conditions for water sports such as surfing, kayaking, and kite surfing, making it a popular destination for active beachgoers. During the winter months, the beach sees strong, consistent waves that attract surfers despite the low water temperatures—typically around 14°C. Even in summer, the water rarely exceeds 20°C. Outside the winter season, the shallow and calmer waters make it ideal for families and leisure swimmers. The beach is also visually striking, with the iconic Farol de Aveiro and a backdrop of gently curving dunes creating perfect photo opportunities—especially at sunset, when the entire scene is bathed in...
