I've attended Martinhal Beach every year since I was born as I'm part of a family that is extremely connected to the sea, especially sailing sports. It is one of the best, if not the best, place to practice windsurf in the country as the wind is usually blowing from north. Not that pleasant for people staying at the beach but if you bring the right gear, it will prevent you from eating sand. The natural beauty of the beach is undeniable with the two rock islands completing the scenery but don't get to enthusiastic, the ocean is freaking cold. Overall and biasedly speaking it is an excellent place, with a pretty view. It's the beach of my childhood so I think you just have to learn...
Read morePerfect beach to go as a couple or family. Parking is free and very close to the beach entrance. If you want to visit Sagres in one day, this is a good option before going to the town. It has almost no waves, the water is crystal clear, the sand is pleasant and it is not overcrowded like other beaches. Despite the fact that it is a blue flag beach, unlike others that I have visited categorized in the same way, it lacks places to buy something to drink or eat. You have to bring everything you want to consume as everything is extremely far away. Even though I don't do water sports, I saw a lot of people windsurfing. I...
