Pura Vida Divehouse — Hotel in Vila do Bispo

I spent a wonderful 4 nights/3 days staying at Puravida and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Sagres. The accommodation was clean, quaint and comfortable. The hosts Cam and Kiara were super friendly and made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller.

With regard to the diving, I used the 6 dive package and wish I had time for more. I would definitely have extended my stay if I could have! IThe diving around Sagres is fantastic with lots of life - octopus, beautiful nudis, crustaceans and fish etc. However, it is the lovely underwater landscapes that really made this place special and interesting for me. The caverns and caves are great to explore - huge thanks to Cris for the incredible dive he guided on my first day. As a (somewhat) experienced diver with 100+ dives, this was of my top 5 dives ever, for sure.

The dive team at Puravida are very professional and thorough. Most of my dives were led by instructor Damian who was excellent, as was Dive Master Trainee, Ricciardo. Both Damian and Ricky took care to look after their divers and ensure we had the best time possible and communication in English (and Spanish) was perfect.

My stay at Pura Vida Divehouse was simply magical—a little paradise where I felt welcome from the very first moment. The accommodation exudes peace and comfort, with cozy rooms and beds that invite you to relax. But the true heart of this place is its wonderful staff, who create a warm and friendly atmosphere.

I was especially impressed by Mario, our freediving instructor. From the beginning, he fostered a trusting environment where I felt safe and motivated. His professional yet laid-back approach helped me develop my freediving skills with joy and confidence.

The shared activities were an absolute highlight! Playing underwater hockey and enjoying fun dives brought so much excitement, and the Friday night BBQ was the perfect grand finale to an unforgettable week. I left with great success and a newfound confidence in my freediving abilities—a feeling I will always cherish.

Pura Vida is a little Paradise! I travel alot and this hostel is the cleanest I have ever seen. You get your own lockable wardrobe in the 4 beds bedroom, the beds have curtains, everyone has one dedicated shelf in the kitchen and one inside the fridge. There is everything you need for cooking, and even a "free to take" bowl with leftover ingrediens from departed guests. In a few minutes you are at the beach, at the supermarket or in town to go surfing. The bus from Lagos stops 5min from the Hostel. I stayed in the hostel during the day working remotely and saw every day how carefully the staff cleaned and put everything into order. That day I was the only guest home during the day and they invited me to have lunch with them and took me surfing in the afternoon. Last but not least I reccomend to use the diving offers - the bay is nearby and the instructors are amazing and live around the house. Thank you...
