These ruins are located not too far away from the center of the city, in a walkable distance. The ruins cover a larger area so you will be walking around for a while if you're curious to see everything. There is also a small part of raised path where you can overlook the site, and see the Danube River in the background. I definitely recommend visiting here if you're staying in Drobeta-Turnu Severin. Whether you spend 10 minutes here, or an hour here really depends on how interested you are.

This is part of the Iron Gates Museum and it is an interesting find. There are baths, a military settlement and even parts of a church ruins, so much to see. The ruins are what I came for, which did not disappoint but there’s another museum on the property that’s also worth seeing if you have a couple of hours to dig in and enjoy it. There’s a fantastic view of the Danube River and even though there was a nonstop drizzle while we were there, it was a truly wonderful experience.
