Read moreNewly opened museum in an impressive house on the history of the masons. It's very small but also quite interesting as a concept and it does have a few remarkable exhibits and an amazing looking ceremony room.
The curation is pretty average and everything is only available in Romanian, they do guided tours in Romanian, I happened to catch one at the time of my visit, no idea if they do other languages. A tablet with a pdf in Romanian was offered at the entrance detailing a bit of the history.

Read moreRo.
En. - The Freemasons temple from Oradea is a private museum which shows the Masonic Loje which used to exist in Oradea. The Loje from Oradea was created in the year 1876, being moved to this building in 1901. The museum is interesting, showing different clothing and objects used by members, alongside medals and ceremonial swords. There are many images and symbols of Freemasons on the walls with various explications, alongside the hall where the "secret" meetings took place. As a whole the museum is interesting and innovative since personally i do not know any similar museums in Romania, it's a welcomed help at debunking older propaganda from former authoritarian regimes against secret societies, while showing pictures of Romanian political individuals that used to be members of...
