Another lifeless, uninviting and decrepit romanian museum. Constructed in typical romanian functional style, without any attention to the natural layout of the site. No acting historians on site whatsoever. No access to more then 70% of the buildings, and most if not all buildings thet are open to the public are sparsely occupied by original or replica furniture and historically accurate objects. No information, other then small plaques on the entry to various households. No guides on site. No map of the layout displayed on site, only at the entrance. And the place is made ugly by badly implemented modern infrastructure (electric lamp post, too many trash bins, sewage man holes) thet are very distracting and take away from what should be an experience of exploring a traditional village of Banat region. A missed opportunity to attract local and foreign tourists and to cherish romanian history...
Read moreA nicely laid-out area in the woods with lots of potential and a fun secret game that you discover once you've paid: Shortly after the last ticket is issued, a race begins between the visitors and the man with the keys. If he beats you, he locks the door to that exhibit and when you arrive there you don't get to go inside. It's a scream! But beware - if you're inside one of the houses when he arrives and you take more than a couple of minutes to come out, he'll let you know that you're moving too slowly and that he's not happy with you. Who's the winner? Everyone's a winner in this high-stakes race against the clock nobody...
Read moreEntrance is 10 lei for adults. Went there with the family 3 weeks ago, it was fairly empty. We were able to visit a couple of houses but most of them were closed for conservation or maintenance works purposes. However, there was no real sign that such works were actually done. The kid was very disappointed because of this. There are some old tools around but it is quite hard to understand their purpose, functionality, especially if you are a city person or a foreigner. One may find a toilet there which looks ok from the outside but I have never seen in my entire life such dirty and disgusting WC basins. Absolutely horrible. I would be totally uncomfortable with the thought of working there and have such...
