Vandia Hotel — Hotel in Timișoara

We just needed a one night stay after a late night arrival from Timisoara airport, which was only a 15 minute drive at 11:30pm at night. The lady at Reception was upbeat and helpful considering the 11:45pm check-in, and provided us with a quick check-in and all the info we needed (Wi-Fi password and breakfast times). The room itself was large and comfortable, but felt very hot upon walking in. But it cooled down once we opened a window. There was a mini-bar with the basics, but unfortunately the TV didn't work (which isn't a big deal, but we do like to see what local TV is like...but the picture was fuzzy on all channels). Once we turned everything off for bed, we did notice the walls were quite thin as we could hear snoring in the room next door! But we were so tired that we stopped noticing and fell asleep. The only other thing, as we had the windows open, is that we woke up to crowing roosters! It made us laugh...but other people might not have found it funny! Breakfast was included, and the service was very good and friendly. My husband is vegan, so he didn't particularly have a variety of choice, but I enjoyed the omelette! Overall, it was exactly what we needed for a quick stay before we explored Timisoara and other...

Nice clean and comfortable hotel with friendly, accommodating staff. Selection of toiletries, including toothbrush in the bathroom. Fresh towels each day. Nice selection for breakfast including omelettes. No kettle in room but reception staff happy to make tea/coffee as required. Mini bar in room with a price list.. We walked in to the city from the hotel but it took around an hour along a very busy road with lots of roadworks going on. Also walked back to hotel but it was too far so take a taxi. It's not too far from airport and doesn't cost that much for a taxi, but it's best to agree a price before you set off. If you prefer to be in the thick of things, you may be better off in a more central hotel with easier access to restaurants etc. But if you're not bothered, this hotel...

Stayed here for a night following a backpacking trip of Eastern Europe, arrived from Belgrade early evening, and it was nice, clean- not overly fancy, but good for the area. Breakfast was included and decent. Taxi to city center and airport were inexpensive. Well worth it to go downtown to the main square and walk around; some lovely restaurants there. All in all, not a bad place to stay- had AC and reception was very kind. Only complaint is the wifi was very spotty especially on the top floor and there is a weird stair step that is huge compared to the other steps when you get to the top so beware when carrying luggage because even as it was marked with caution tape; 2 of my friends tripped 😬. |I'd stay here again if I was flying...
