I think they need improvement on their customer service. I take organized groups inside the mine, and when I call the phone number to book and confirm the guides, it takes days to get someone on the other end of the line to answer. when going in, they lack clear communication on the exhibits, and the tour itself and especially of the changes that have been made and they have the typical Romanian passive aggresive attitude and dont know how to welcome tourists at the mine. when dealing with organized groups, especially prebooked, all the changes should be informed beforehand, so the group leader can inform the group and manage expectations, so the tourists can have a nice experience. my group was stopped at the old entrance, not all of them have entered completely and were told straightforward NO PHOTOS. Whats the point of not taking photos with a profesional camera but its OK to take with the phone? where is the logic and why change this rule from season to season without announcing it publicly ? me as a group leader, usually dont pay tickets when taking groups inside touristic objectives, they made me pay. Everywhere in the world, the guides/ group leaders get a free entrance because they are bringing groups, or at least a discount. they lacked organizing with the lockers to leave the photo cameras , there was no locker available. when expecting groups, especially a booked one 1 month before, and you know you change the rules and dont inform the gruop leader ( which contact you had in the prebooked email, by the way) you make sure ther are lockers available for the group to store things in case they need. dont reccomend this place until they sort these people skills whithin...
Read moreWent on a Weekday which is 15 lei cheaper than weekends. Was absolutely packed with school kids on a trip so bare this in mind in case you’re thinking of going during the week as it was impossible to move around or do any activities. Was interesting to look at but not as impressive or extensive as other salt mines, not taking long to explore. Lots of the rooms were closed too. The activities once inside are very expensive considering the price of entry. To reach the bottom of the main hall is 13 flights of stairs. There is a single 7 person occupancy lift but it is quite small, so if you are there on a busy day with a school trip be prepared to wait a long time for the lift, or walk up the stairs. Essentially the attraction is an expensive amusement park in an old salt mine which I suppose is the appeal for many. Having been to other mines across Europe this felt lacking however and the amusement park...
Read moreWe travelled from Bulgaria to see the mine. The kids were impatient to take a ride on the ferris wheel. Unfortunately, it was not working and the staff didn't know when it will be repaired. What surprised us was that cameras were not allowed. A rude lady told us to use the phones only. This is ridiculous. They forbid the visitors to use a camera, but they don't seem to control the people scrabbling on the wooden benches. Another disappointment was the boat ride. We could not rent a boat with the children.. A lot of information was missing on their site (e.g. The broken ferris wheel). Also, make sure to go back to the entrance where you came from. If you continue to the old entrance, there is a lady asking you to go back. Oh, and if you think you can buy original salt from the mine as a souvenir - they sell every other bullshit but no salt. Overall opinion: Nice...
